PixTools

Privacy Policy

This policy describes what PixTools does and does not collect when you use our free in-browser image tools.

Last updated: 15 September 2026

PixTools (https://www.getpixtools.com) is operated as an independent website that provides a background remover, image cropper, quality upscaler, and QR code generator. We designed the core tools so your photos stay on your device.

What we do not collect

We do not create user accounts. We do not ask for a name, payment card, or social login to use the tools. Images you select for background removal, cropping, and upscaling are processed in your browser. Those files are not uploaded to PixTools application servers. QR codes are generated locally from the text you type; we do not store the encoded URL or the resulting PNG/SVG.

We do not currently run our own analytics product (no Google Analytics, no ad pixels, and no AdSense script on this site at the time this policy was written). We do not set advertising cookies.

What may be collected by hosting

The public website is typically served by a host or CDN such as Vercel (or a similar provider). Like most sites, the host may keep standard request logs for security, abuse prevention, and reliability. Those logs can include IP address, user-agent, referrer, timestamps, and the URL requested. We do not use host logs to reconstruct your images. Log retention follows the host’s defaults unless we configure a shorter window later.

Cookies and local storage

PixTools does not set non-essential tracking cookies. We do not show a cookie banner because we do not use non-essential cookies today. Your browser may keep its own cache of pages, WASM/ONNX model files, and temporary blob URLs created while a tool runs. Clearing site data in the browser removes that cache. If we add analytics or advertising later, we will update this policy before those scripts go live.

Third parties used to deliver the site and tools

  • Hosting / CDN. The HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for pixtools.app (or whatever domain you are visiting) are served by the deployment host.
  • Fonts. Interface fonts are loaded through Next.js font hosting (self-hosted Geist files in the app build), not a separate Google Fonts stylesheet.
  • Background-removal model. The first time you use the background remover, your browser may download a public ONNX/WASM model from IMG.LY’s CDN (staticimgly.com or a successor URL used by @imgly/background-removal). That request fetches the model, not your photo.

Those vendors process technical data under their own policies. We do not sell personal information.

Children’s privacy

PixTools is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal data by email, contact us and we will delete that correspondence.

Your rights and requests

Because we do not keep tool-upload copies of your images, there is no photo archive for us to export or erase. For questions about this policy, hosting logs, or an email you sent us, use the contact page (hello@pixtools.app). We aim to reply within a few business days. You may also have rights under applicable privacy law (access, deletion of correspondence we hold, etc.).

Changes

We will change the “Last updated” date when this policy materially changes. Continued use after an update means you have read the new version. See also our Terms of Service and Disclaimer.
